9:00 am - 3:00 pm @ The Spires
The Spires College Year 5 Taster Day – Monday 12th June 2017 Following the success of The Spires taster days for year 5 pupils in previous years, we are delighted to be invited once again to a similar event. We will be walking to The Spires on the morning of Monday 12th June 2017 and returning to Priory for the close of school. We think it a great opportunity for your child to experience secondary school and put any worries to rest about moving up in a little over a year. Content of day: There will be a carousel of five sessions that may include Literacy and Numeracy activities, Science, French and Spanish, Geography, ICT, Creative Arts and PE. What should children bring? Children must be in full Priory School uniform and bring a weatherproof coat. The wearing of a sun hat and sun cream is advisable if the weather necessitates. Children should bring any specialist equipment that they use to enable them to access the curriculum in school. The Spires will provide all other equipment and the PE session will not require PE kit, although trainers would be beneficial. Children should bring a packed lunch and a snack for morning break-time, including drinks. Supervision: Teaching staff from The Spires will run the sessions. Children will be accompanied by staff at all times.
