Pope Francis and Laudato Si

Laudato Si is at the forefront of our mind at Priory and all of our children are introduced to the Pope's message about caring for our common home.

We use CAFOD resources to help explain this letter and have speakers come into school each term to focus on an area of learning surrounding this.

All of our children have learnt the Laudato Si song and regularly find opportunities to care for God's creation whether this is lunchtime litter picks or planting vegetables and plants in our school gardens.
We try to give the children opportunities to develop their passion for caring for God's creation and empower the children to take responsibility for this themselves.
Our children are fortunate to have a fabulous site with many creatures, plants and extensive grounds to care for. Our Laudato Leaders are passionate about caring for our school in response to Pope Francis' encyclical- Laudato Si.
The children are busy action planning to ensure that we are caring for our school and community whilst carrying our our mission statement. Watch this space!
As part of our school mission to Honour God Through Our Actions, we encourage our Year 6 children to participate in the Torbay and Devon Civic Award. The children have to to demonstrate their commitment to sustaining the environment, charities and being an excellent role model.
